Project Overview

Oriented toward the park at the heart of Willits, this contemporary mountain home called for interiors that balanced livability with understated luxury. The homeowners — a young family with an appreciation for clean lines and natural texture — wanted spaces that would grow with them over time.

All countertops were various quartzites, all cabinets were Lauriermax Cabinetry finishes.

Project Details

The Willits community has been Lipkin Warner Design & Planning's passion project for over 30 years. Lipkin Warner envisioned, designed, and built the highly successful condominium development, Park Modern, beginning in 2014. I began working with their design team in 2014 to design kitchens, baths and laundries for 7 buildings, including a mix of 1-, 2-and 3-bedroom condos.

We began using Lauriermax White High Gloss lacquer finishes for the first two buildings. By the third building, Lauriermax was offering Steven's Wood veneers as one of its standard finishes, which included high-end wood-grain finishes. This was the Mountain Modern design that carried over into the interior finishes of buildings 3-7 and was widely accepted by the real estate market, as entire buildings sold out before completion.
